New in stock are the decadent Choc-O-Lait Belgium chocolate on a stick which are supplied in stylish counter top display packs, each individual stick is supplied wrapped in clear plastic with an attractive cardboard wrapped for the chocolate base with instructions - ideal serving is to give the customer the wrapped stick and a mug of hot milk so they can stir the chocolate into the milk themselves - how much staff time will that save! Bravilor Bonamat - Filter and Instant machine product updates
Bravilor have updated their product lines for 2011, with new softer lined bodywork and advanced electronic control. Just some of the models updated are the Bravilor Novo 2 filter coffee machine and the Bravilor Mondo 2 pour and serve. For flasks there is the Bravilor ISO flask filter coffee maker and also the Bravilor TH Airpot filter coffee machine.
Coffee Price Increases - Update June 2011
Lavazza have issued to us another statement of imminent price increases "Throughout 2010 amd 2011 there has been a continuous escalation in the commodity price for quality coffee. Prices are at the highest point since May 1977 and are expected to rise further. The composite price today is 224, in February 2010 it was 125. In December 2010 it was 175. This factor means that we must,regrettably, pass on a price increase of 10% on all roast and ground coffee and 8% on all capsule coffee, effective from 1st June 2011." We have managed to forward buy in stocks, and so will for a short while only be deffering passing on the Lavazza increase, but it is only until stocks are depleted - so you should expect to see an increase of 10% on all Lavazza coffee products before the end of the month.
Our own label coffee beans and ground coffee will also have a price increase from June 15th 2011. There will be a £1 increase in the Kilo price for all coffee beans and ground coffee products. For example a 18x500g case of coffee will increase by £9. A box of cafetiere sachets (60x15g) will increase by 90 pence. A box of filter coffee (100x56g) will increase by £5.60.

UK Barista Championship 2011
UK Barista Championship 2011 winner John Gordon placed sixth in the World Championship held in Bogota, Colombia at the start of June 2011. We offer our congratulations to John for
an excellent service during the competition, every year the entrants step up their game and this year was no exception with some incredible quality drinks and amazing signature drinks. This years world Champion was Alejandro Mendez, from EL SALVADOR - he did an amazing service, innovative signature drink involving coffee cherries and a new concept in espresso by allowing the judges to assess his crema - but then removing it before they tasted the espresso - because for the coffee he was using he felt the crema masked the finer taste notes of the coffee he was using.
